“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:16-17 NIV

Everyday we see them. People are everywhere. Do you ever stop to wonder what’s going on in a person’s life? What challenges they are facing? Maybe there’s a small group together smiling and engaging in a friendly conversation.

Isn’t it amazing that our God sent His Son to die for the world and while on Earth, Jesus served and ministered to multitudes, but that He took the time for individuals, too.

Some examples of His personal touch were the Samaritan Woman at the Well. (John 4); Nicodemus, a Pharisee who met with Jesus by night. (John 3); Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. (Luke 19:1-10). There were many others. Each felt the love, compassion, and gentleness of Jesus.

Jesus had a purpose. He begged the Father for another way in the Garden of Gethsemane, but totally surrendered to the Father’s will. “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42 NIV

All of us have a choice. We can follow after our Savior and help others and do good, or give in to sin, selfishness, greed, and crime. One leads to life and one leads to death. Where are you going?

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 ESV

“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Proverbs 14:12 NIV
