The Men in Our Lives

Dads, Husbands, Brothers, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. Each one has the potential to touch our hearts and lives in many ways. These are three men who have loved and encouraged me, my daughter, and everyone around them by their faith in God, their dedication to their country, and their love for people. Today, my dad Richard Ashley, celebrates another heavenly birthday. The photo was of my parents in their younger days. The second photo is of my late husband and my daughter’s biological dad, Tim Ravert. Normally, he wore three-piece suits, but at the time, he was playing Pilate in a Cantata at a church. The next photo is of my husband, Kevin Miles. He shares a beautiful and fun bond with our daughter, Stephanie. Kevin also enjoys wearing costumes and most of the time dresses like Santa. Kevin has a heart for God and loves portraying the jolly red-suited gentleman. Truly, I’ve been blessed.

Sadly, I understand that many didn’t have a loving father image in their life. In these cases, please take your hurts and broken hearts to our Heavenly Father. God loves you and wants to have an intimate relationship with you.

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

This Father’s Day, I pray that all dads will recognize the truth of the importance of their presence and involvement in our lives, and most of all, will look to the One who can restore lives and families.
