Prayer and Praise:

Powerful weapons against the Enemy

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust’” Psalm 91: 1-2 NIV.

To abide or remain also means “to dwell”. In the fifteenth chapter of John, Jesus is speaking to His disciples and inviting them to abide or to remain in Him. How do we do this?

We stay close to Jesus through prayer, Bible devotions, and praise.

I love the Psalms. David spent many days running and hiding from King Saul, who wanted to kill him. Why did Saul make it his mission to destroy David? Simply, jealousy and fear. David was a great military leader. He didn’t stop after Goliath; he continued fighting and leading the soldiers into battle against their enemies.

Unless you are in the military or have family and friends who serve during war, your battles are in other areas: Family relationships, sickness, and diseases; anxiety and other emotional issues, and financial struggles. The list goes on. How do we keep our sanity during times of immense pressure?

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” John 16:33 KJV.

We simply return to the One who wants us to abide with Him, Jesus.
