Seasons Part 2

What thoughts come to your mind as you view this photo? Do you appreciate the intricate lines of black and red in both bold and slender display? Or do the complex images create a web of confusion?

How about this photo? A relaxing swim or relief seeing the light at the end of the opening? God created all of us in His image, but each of us with a variety of race and ethnic backgrounds. Our personalities, life experiences and talents are also unique to each person. Yet, God is using different seasons in our lives to help us become more like His Son Jesus.

“Nothing about me
is hidden from you!
I was secretly woven together
out of human sight,
but with your own eyes you saw
my body being formed.
Even before I was born,
you had written in your book
everything about me.” Psalm 139: 15-16 (CEV)
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)
So whether we have curly, kinky hair or straight, or a combination of brown and gray, God knows everything about us: the good, the bad and the ugly and He still loves us. I remember sometime ago I asked the Lord if He kept track of the brown and gray hairs on my head and His answer was, not only the total of each color, but the exact number of each hair. Santa Kevin, I wonder if God knows the number of hairs in your beard? I’m guessing yes, He does!
No matter what stage or season of life we are in, God desires us to trust and obey His Word. He only wants us to become the best individual we can be, but that comes with a lifetime of trusting and surrendering to His will. He only wants the best for us and is preparing a special place in Heaven for all Christians who have put their trust in the finished work of His Son’s death on the cross. He took our place. He died for us. Let’s live for Him.
