A Christmas Memorial

Reverend Kevin was able to visit Rickey several times during this young man’s fight with cancer. It was arranged for Rickey to serve as one of our volunteers on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, and to celebrate Christmas with everyone as his medical team didn’t think he would survive through the holidays.

We made arrangements with our “Love Thy Neighbor” family members (as well as our volunteers), to celebrate this day with Rickey. Sadly, Rickey was called to his eternal home with Jesus before this day, but we continued as planned because we wanted to honor his life. Just one look at this little boy’s smile was enough to say how he must have made a positive impression on everyone he met.

Celebrating Rickey’s legacy

There was lots of food to hand out, candy for both kids and adults, and continuous Christmas music. We even had visitors from the North Pole.
