“When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, ‘This man deserves to have you do this, because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.’ So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him, ‘Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, “Go,” and he goes; and that one, “Come,” and he comes. I say to my servant, “Do this,” and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, ‘I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.’ Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.” Luke 7: 1-10 NIV.
I LOVE this story. To enhance it, the TV streaming series The Chosen 1 plays this scene beautifully and powerfully! “Gaius, (the name given to the centurion) is played by Kirk Woller, who pours sincerity, honesty, and passion into his words and actions.

There are so many examples of Biblical heroes who had blind faith and simply trusted God. I’d like to mention two: Abraham and Moses.
“The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people, and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you, I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.’” Genesis 12: 1-3 NIV

The story of Moses begins by revealing him as an innocent and vulnerable baby. Pharaoh had ordered male Hebrew babies to be killed. He feared the men would form a large army against the Egyptians and overtake them. He gave the order: Female babies could live, but the male babies must be eliminated. Thank God, the story doesn’t stop there. God had a plan for Moses. At the age of forty (40), God appeared to Moses in a burning bush on Mount Sinai. It was here that God laid out the plans for delivering His people out of Egypt, and that included Moses.

God always shows up right on time. He’s writing each of our stories. Our part is to trust, submit, and obey Him. He’s never let us down, never abandoned us, and never will. He bought us at a great price. His only Son’s blood. Why wouldn’t He help us? We are the sheep of His pasture.
