Lemonade

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV

The chorus to the song ‘Lemonade’ by Forrest Frank reads, “My Jesus makin’ lemonade,
I watch my worries wash (away), lemonade
It’s gonna be okay
Life gave me some lemons, but my Jesus, He be makin’ lemonade”. 1

Life is hard. Each season of life comes with its own challenges. Even life situations such as birthdays, weddings, and funerals don’t always meet our expectations. We make plans and anticipate things to go smoothly. Most times they do, but what of those things that have major challenges? A family member was overlooked in the invite to a birthday party, a bride was late for her own wedding, and a funeral home did not do its job of having the loved one arrive at the church on time.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

God is always right on time. He cares about us and loves us. Many times, He works through others; He’s even sent angels to help us. No matter what trials you are facing, know that all you need to do is whisper a prayer. Even a simple, “Jesus, help me,” is enough for God to move the mountain. Remember, all it takes is faith and obedience. God CAN and WILL make a way.
