The ABCs of the Character of God

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

Father’s Day is only a week away, but it’s never too early to remind our children (and ourselves) of God’s character.

Check out traits of God’s character online or develop some of your own. There are no wrong answers. Here’s my list: (Some created and others borrowed)

God is Amazing, Boundless, Compassionate, Dependable, Everlasting, Forgiving, Generous, Holy, Immortal, Just, Kind, Loving, Merciful, Never-Failing, Overcomer, Perfect, Qualified, Righteous, Savior, True, Unchanging, Victorious, Worthy, Yahweh, Zealous.

I’m so blessed that my daughter (like me and my siblings) was raised in a Christian home. We have morning devotions and communicate with God every day. We say a good night’s prayer in the evening, and sometimes she initiates prayer by folding her hands before each meal.

Moms and Dads, your kids are watching you. It’s never too early or too late to bring Jesus into the center of your family.
