Giving at Christmas

Giving at Christmas

This time of the year we especially remember God’s Best Gift when He sent us His Son to live among us.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

“You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:34-35 (NIV)

Early this month some of our volunteers from “Love Thy Neighbor Food Pantry” helped prepare and serve a meal at “Streets of Hope”, a local men’s shelter. It was a blessing for everyone.

These days, there are numerous ways to give at Christmas and all year long! See how many you can name.

I received several people’s kindness over the weekend when my daughter and I learned our car wouldn’t start. We needed a hot shot and a new battery.

Whether a smile; a kind word of encouragement; a prayer, or just holding the door for someone, there are endless ways for us to show the love of our Lord in giving to others.
