He Knows Your Name

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
you are Mine.” Isaiah 43:1 (NKJV)

It’s refreshing when we cross paths with a friend whom we haven’t seen for some time. We call each other by name and exchange hugs. We talk for a few minutes and promise to schedule lunch soon to “catch up.”

In The Chosen series, Season 1 Episode 1, Before Mary Magdalene encountered Jesus, she had lived a life of suffering from demonic possession. Toward the end of the episode, Jesus approached her and offered her a new way of living. Initially, she tried walking away out of fear, but then Jesus calls her by name, “Mary.”

As believers, I hope we reflect and remember the day Jesus called us by name. Although we struggle, we are not alone, nor defeated for Jesus’ Holy Spirit lives within our hearts and is with us to lead, guide, and direct our steps.

For those who have yet to confess their sin of unbelief in God’s precious Son as their only way to Heaven, do it today! God knows you by name. He is waiting to wrap you in His arms and restore you to His family.
