Eggceptional Peace
Yes, as my online spellcheck is telling me, the correct spelling is Exceptional Peace. I purposely spelled it “egg” because of inspired thoughts from the Holy Spirit while I was peeling hard-boiled eggs for my daughter’s breakfast.

Normally, I like to purchase already boiled and peeled eggs from the grocery store. This is much more convenient for me and saves time in our morning routine. Another reason I prefer these already prepared eggs is that in times past when I cooled the eggs and was ready to peel the eggs, I had difficulty removing the shell.
This past week, my local food store was out of ready-to-serve eggs, so I decided to try my luck at cooking them. Once cooked and cooled, I placed them in their packaged container and set them in the refrigerator until they were needed.
Sometimes when I am short on time, I quickly set out breakfast for my daughter. A favorite meal consists of waffles, eggs, juice, and applesauce. On this particular morning, I needed to pull out two (2) hard-boiled eggs from the refrigerator and begin to peel them. At first, I was in a bit of a rush, and the Lord reminded me to be patient in the process. When I slowed down, the shells came off easier and I didn’t peel any of the egg whites in the process.

The next day began the same with me pulling out the already-cooked eggs. I smiled as I remembered the inspirational insights from the day before. This time while peeling the shells, I noticed how sharp the edges were and how they could easily cut and hurt me if I wasn’t careful. Today’s insight was just as powerful–“words, attitudes, and actions could hurt and cut others just as easily.”
“Forgive me, Father,” I prayed, not wanting to do any such kind of damage to my family, friends, or neighbors.

As we draw closer to Holy Week and Easter, let us remember the example of our precious Jesus who interacted with everyone He came in contact with in love, and compassion and offered Hope.
